A home is a wonderful thing to have, and I am thankful for mine!
It’s that time of year again… many people reflect on their goals and aspirations, as well as celebrate their achievements!
I was looking back at the previous 12 months to see what went well, and what didn’t, and to contemplate what I could do better. I’d want to use this opportunity to express my gratitude for the year 2021.
Many times, you would have heard your elders remark, “Be glad for a roof over your head,” and we probably dismissed it as a figure of phrase. However, this is true in the literal sense because there are several reasons to be grateful for having a roof over your head. Buying a house is a big endeavour, I bought my first home in 2021. I am pleased and glad to have a place to live and a roof over my head.
When I had decided to buy a house, I was typically going in blind — or, at the very least, with no understanding of what I was getting myself into. I had to learn my lessons the hard way. Despite the fact that my first home was purchased in February 2021 during a pandemic, I searched for a more reasonable area to live in based on my budget and lower loan rates to repay.
First, to qualify for a loan was a proud moment! when you are looking for a home loan you need to qualify for it, banks will examine your transactions on bank statements with a magnifying glass and they will want to know your source of all income, so getting my finance in order is the first thing I did. Of course, I had to rely on my close friends and family for funds in a pinch before wrapping up the paperwork and registration procedure, which took weeks. Even though purchasing my first home was a rollercoaster ride, I am now the proud owner!
A home is a wonderful thing to have, and I am thankful for mine!
